Some things in this world are just as fun when they’re upside-down! Like an upside-down Christmas Tree (it’s a thing), or eating the bottom of a cupcake first! Pineapple is no different! Back in the good ol’ days, many bakers only had a fire and a skillet at their disposal to make cakes. To make sure the fruit topping got the proper heat it deserved, they’d put it on the bottom, and then flip it over to serve! Voila! Upside-down cake!
